On May 31, 2026, friends, neighbors, and members of the Rogue Valley community gathered at the Red Barn in Ashland for the Sunflowers & Solidarity Barn Benefit, a special afternoon dedicated to supporting Ukrainian families who have made their home in Southern Oregon.

The event brought people together through music, dancing, food, Ukrainian culture, and community — all while raising support for families rebuilding their lives far from home.

The beautiful country setting at the Red Barn created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for an afternoon filled with connection and celebration. Guests enjoyed live music from 33 String Drive, including a special tribute to the Maddox Brothers and Rose, as well as square dancing led by caller Kayla Blanchflower.

The afternoon also featured a lively pie and cake auction, Ukrainian crafts and traditional treats, refreshments, and opportunities for guests to meet members of the local Ukrainian community.

More than simply a fundraiser, the event was an opportunity to celebrate the strength, resilience, and culture of Ukrainian families living in the Rogue Valley. It gave community members a chance to come together, learn more about their Ukrainian neighbors, and show that support can take many forms — from a donation to a shared meal, a dance, a conversation, or simply being there.

The funds raised through the benefit will help Ukrainian families with important expenses, including immigration-related costs, basic living needs, and other challenges that can arise while establishing a new life in the United States.

The afternoon was a wonderful reminder of the generosity and compassion that exists throughout the Rogue Valley. Through music, friendship, and community spirit, Sunflowers & Solidarity brought people together around a shared message of welcome, hope, and solidarity.

We are grateful to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, performed, shared food and Ukrainian traditions, or helped make this special event possible.

Thank you for standing with Ukrainian families and for helping make the Rogue Valley a place where new neighbors can find friendship, support, and a sense of home.
